PFL – Week 10 recap

I want some of that too

Fatal Plus 1686

एक सौ गज की दूरी 2020

100 Yards continues to impress. As much as I hate to admit it, they are a contender for the PFL crown unless the wheels fall off. As long as Tom Brady continues to make sweet love to Gronkowski every week, 100 Yards will beat the shit out of whatever tight end you pathetic team fields. Larry Fitzgerald will continue to be himself no matter how pathetic the rest of the Cardinals team becomes. Fred Jackson will continue to star in the Buffalo offense. The Buffalo team can’t get any worse than they’ve shown the past couple week, yet Jackson is still making my list every week with 200+ points. Janikowski and the Steeler defense will also be holding down their positions every week and you would be hard pressed to beat them at either of those spots in your matchup. 100 Yards is going to be hell in the playoffs.

Fatal Plus is cursed. I’m not sure what else to say about them. To put this in perspective as to the “fairness” of fantasy football, compare these two teams.

Hoggetowne Mafia – record: 6-4 on 13,736 total points
Fatal Plus – record: 2-8 on 15,309 total points

Why they have the worst record in the league is simple. They’ve played the toughest schedule. BUT, before the pity party gets too out of hand, know that they are also the 4th lowest scoring team in the league. It’s not like this is a playoff team anyway. They should have more than 2 wins, but not that many more. With players like Antonio Brown, Victor Cruz and even Chris Ogbonnaya this would be a great team in a keeper league. MJD had a solid week for Fatal, but it wasn’t a monster week. It wasn’t the type of week that can carry a team. That seems to be happening more frequently where one or two players just go off, record 500 points and carry their team to victory. Fatal lacks that type of player. Balls.

DURTY WHORES 1319

Hoggetowne Mafia 1384

Holy shit. This one was close. Of course Mafia pulls it out. They are about the luckiest team I’ve ever seen. Dead last in total points, but they still have a solid record of 6-4 in Cell Block 6. They are still in a prime position to make the playoffs, as unbelievable as it would seem.

Offal Team 18,638
On My Knees 17,388
DURTY WHORES 16,888
WanderLust 16,419
एक सौ गज की दूरी 16,326
RalphWiggum 16,153
Swamp Kings 15,566
Pigfuckers 15,496
Fatal Plus 15,309
GvilleGreen 14,102
Donkey Punchers 13,819
Hoggetowne 13,736

AVERAGE 15,820

This almost proves my theory about certain people sucking their way to the top.

Whores have already clinched a playoff spot. They really don’t give a fuck at this point. They will simply cruise into the playoffs and hope for the best.

This game came down to Monday night were there was a decent exchange between owners. I like to see the chatter.

Whores: Would it be too much to ask for the Minnesota D to snap Crosby’s ankle on the first field goal try?
Mafia: You’ll be wearing my fuckng kickers JIZZ on your chin…..and you’ll like it, Whore

See, isn’t that sweet?

That’s how it’s done, fellas.

Pigfuckers 1736

And here last week I was all worried about Green getting their act together and making a playoff run. I thought they were up over 2,000 points or something. I must have been dreaming. This week, they were under a grand where they belong. The only decent player on Green this week was a total surprise. Hello, Reggie Bush! There must be something to that whole Kim Kardashian divorse inspires Reggie to play angle. He looks like a good NFL player again. Who knew. While Reggie continued his hot streak, the rest of Green was cold like witch tit in brass bra.

Pigfuckers get a much needed win and improve to 4-6. They are still in the hunt and actually, I think it’s likely that they catch Mafia for 2nd place in Cell Block 6. Mafia’s luck can’t hold out forever. Pigfuckers of course have the Aaron Rodgers thing going for them. Green Bay is such a consistent team that I don’t see Rodgers falling off much as the season wears on. Not too sure about the rest of the team. Gates and the Chargers aren’t quite right. There’s plenty of WR to choose from on this team, but I think the RB position may be the end of their run. Steven Jackson doesn’t get enough blocking from week to week to be effective, and there’s really not much behind him. Jackie Battle? Ahmad Bradshaw? Daniel Thomas? Javon Ringer? James Starks? Tough to fill out the #2 RB spot each week.

Donkey Punchers 1462

Swamp Kings 1457

Fuck. This one was even closer than Mafia vs. Whores.

I have no idea if he survived.

5 points? That’s just a few yards. LOL @ Swamp Kings. I’m not sure why I delight in your losses, but I do. I have a long tradition of rooting against you and this year is no different.

This really wouldn’t have been all that close if Donkey would have put Denarius Moore in the staring lineup. His 400+ points would have changed the final drastically. Still, I prefer it this way, where Swamp Kings feel the pain of a close loss.

Both teams are tearing it up this year. The hi-lights from these two teams alone could fill an entire book. Both of these beasts are now at 3-7 and charging hard into the playoff picture. The other teams at the top of the standings are praying that neither of these teams sneaks into the playoffs. Who would want to face these guys? For Punchers, Chris Johnson is finally starting to round into form. He had over 400 points this week, and represents that star power I was talking about. Punchers also have Michael Vick. He’s not making a run at the Hall of Fame or anything, but what happens when he runs for 100 yards and 2 TD to go along with his average passing stats? Vick can also be that star power that wrecks havoc in the playoffs. For now though, Vick has a couple of busted ribs that should limit his powers.

For the Swamp Kings, they have Tebow. Doesn’t that scare you?

They also have Megatron and Boldin, so there’s legit star power on their side as well. That’s actually been the flaw with Kings all year. The stars haven’t been stars. Felix Jones? Wasn’t he poised for a breakout year? Darren McFadden? Beanie Wells? Michael Crabtree?
Before the season started I too could see the potential in all of these players. This might be the year that at least a few of them put it all together. Surprisingly, none of them have really excelled this season. Then again, they just might come to life at the end of the year.

Offal Team 1364

WanderLust 1825

Wanderlust moves to 7-3 with some of that star power I was talking about. Michael Bush’s 544 on Thursday night was quite a head start on a great week. At the other RB spot, Frank Gore struggled with only 16, as he has a bruised knee and sprained ankle. Wanderlust QB Drew Brees will contribute every week barring a disaster. I thought the same could be said about Wes Welker, but Revis and company held him in check this week. Welker finished with 92, but that should be his low point for the rest of the season. The Patriots schedule is pretty easy down the stretch. Jacoby Jones was a star this week with 248, but his point totals should suffer going forward for two reasons. 1) Matt Leinart

2) Andre Johnson’s return

Wanderlust has plenty of options at WR though. In addition to Welker and Jones, here’s what’s left in the barn:

Brandon Marshall (196)
Robert Meachem (198)
Nate Burleson (156)
Mike Williams (86)
Jerome Simpson
Jonathan Baldwin
Earl Bennett (162)

No shortage of WR on this team.
The key down the stretch for Wanderlust will be the Panthers and their running game. If Jonathan Stewart can get some blocking and some opportunities, he could be the next 500 point player for Wanderlust.

Offal Team has dropped two straight, and it’s not looking like a turnaround is going to happen any time soon. QB Roflburger has a bye and a fractured thumb on his throwing hand. They don’t have a tight end worth a shit, and all the WR are too inconsistent. The RB spot has been keeping this team on top with Sproles, Peterson and Forte carrying the load. If all 3 don’t have solid weeks, then this becomes a rather average team. The cracks are starting to show.

RalphWiggum AllStars 1476

On My Knees 1388

Wiggum’s win streak is at two, improving their record to 3-7. Their season point total is excellent at 16,153 good for 6th in the PFL. Should playoff entry come down to total points (which it usually does for team with mediocre records) then Wiggum is in good shape. But, they will have to win these remaining games to even have a shot at that. Wiggum’s star power comes from Vincent Jackson, who finished with 44 this week for the struggling Chargers, and LeSean McCoy (246). Both could help carry this team if they have some huge weeks. Eli is a solid FF QB, but he isn’t going to carry this team. Roddy White? Jordy Nelson? Possible, but doubtful. Jimmy Graham at TE is going to win his matchup every week. That guy’s a stud, the #1 fantasy TD in football (and on a bye this week). One glaring weakness of Wiggum is the defense. Kansas City? I’m sure you’ll have to do something about that this week as KC faces New England.

On My Knees falls to 6-4, a record that is puzzling considering the way they opened their season. I can’t quite explain what happened to them, but bad decisions are certainly part of the equation. Hypothetical question:

If you had Tom Brady on your team, under what circumstances would you bench him?

For me, that would include games late in the season where perhaps the Patriots might rest Brady. Other than that, I can’t think of anything. Maybe you also have Aaron Rodgers on your team facing the Colts? There’s not many scenarios that come to mind. This week, On My Knees put Brady (332) on the bench in favor of Josh Freeman (97). An investigation will be launched to look into this matter. This “error in judgement” led directly to a free win for Wiggum. Protesters are out in the street today. That’s right. Occupy his ass.

The early giant point totals had a lot to do with Steve Smith’s resurgence in Carolina. Teams have since put together their defensive game plans with the main goal of not getting burnt by Smith. I don’t think anyone expected Cam to Smith to be such a potent combination at the start of the season, but this is the NFL. That stuff can’t go on forever. Miles Austin and Malcom Floyd have been dinged up, so that hurts.

There’s still plenty of star power though. Ray Rice (207) and Marshawn Lynch (394) have been playing well, along with Jermichael Finley (134). On my Knees is still going to be a tough out come playoff time, but they no longer have the same luster.
